Supporting Nature, Driving Resilience
  • Bridging the Funding Gap for High-Impact NbS

The Global South faces urgent climate challenges but lacks sufficient funding to scale effective solutions. Nature-based Solutions (NbS) can restore ecosystems, build resilience, and uplift communities — yet many promising projects struggle to secure investment due to gaps in readiness, structure, and visibility.
  • Advancing Readiness for Scalable Climate Solutions

Seedling Climate Alliance helps community-centered NbS projects become funding-ready. As a nonprofit (501(c)(3) status pending), we provide investment-readiness guidance and partner alignment — working alongside developers, incubators, and funders to unlock capital for high-impact, long-term climate action.

Why Nature-based Solutions

Nature-based Solutions (NbS) offer powerful, cost-effective ways to address climate mitigation and adaptation. NbS are projected to reduce emissions by 5 GtCO2e annually by 2025, and 15 GtCO2e by 2050 and help restore nearly 1 billion hectares of degraded land. NbS provides climate adaptation, biodiversity protection, water security, and societal advantages.
Private vs Public vs Necessary financing

Private Financing Need

To fully realize the benefits of NbS, finance flow must increase. According to UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the current funding of $154 billion per year needs to double to $384 billion by 2025 and triple to $484 billion by 2030. Private sector investment, currently at $26 billion per year (17% of total NbS investment), must also grow significantly. With increased investment, NbS can play a pivotal role in creating a sustainable future.

Our Approach

Project Alignment

We engage with mission-aligned NGOs and ecosystem actors to identify community-centered nature-based solutions with strong climate and social impact potential — prioritizing transparency, equity, and long-term viability.

Readiness Collaboration

We collaborate with project teams to strengthen clarity around structure, impact potential, and funding pathways — supporting them in communicating effectively with aligned funders and platforms.

Catalytic Strategy Support

We support funders, philanthropic actors, and intermediaries in exploring catalytic funding approaches that can help unlock scalable climate action — with a focus on fit-for-purpose design and ecosystem alignment.
